Photo Collage: Trading

Fresno State students traveled abroad to London, England to learn about British Imperialism through art. After the study, the students were assigned to make one art work to describe what they learned from the class. I chose to use a series of my photos that I took from several different museums describing the trading of fabrics from China, the trading of slaves on ships from Africa and the door that are used as the backdrop to show the imprisonment of the slaves.

This photo collage was made in photoshop and was work on throughout a four-day span. The collage was produced in Adobe Photoshop CS6 with several layers and copying techniques.

Here is the work:

Photoshop changes that make a difference

These photos were captured for a hair shoot and the lighting was very bright the day I took the photos. I used several tools on Photoshop CS6 to manipulate and color correct the photos and focus the attention on the makeup rather than the harsh light that was projected in the photos.
